Summary of interview（old idea）

After some searching on Weibo, I found a girl，Eve， who loves Y2K and vintage culture , and DM her asking if she would like to accept my interview.

Eve is a model as well as a makeup artist, and she also posts a lot of subculture related content on her microblog. Because of the influence of coronavirus now, face-to-face interview is not feasible, we finally made an appointment to conduct a video interview through Wechat.

The interview was relatively smooth. I also recorded the whole process. The only pity was that the quality of the picture was not very clear.

We talked for about an hour. In Eve’s description, I learned a lot about her views on subculture. The first reason why she likes subculture is to show her true self. When she first came into contact with subculture, she always pursued the trend. Later, she gradually understood that to judge whether a person is “cool” or not depends on being authenic. I think this is a process of finding self and building identity and the key word here is authenticity. 

During the conversation, she also talked about some very interesting experiences. For example, at first her family thought her dress style was too abnormal, but later she had a frank communication with her family, even took her father to see her favorite band’s performance, and finally got the understanding of the family.

Due to the poor quality of the video, I gave up the original plan to do some remote shooting, and asked Eve to take some photos and send them to me. This is one of the photos of the day.
